Traditional Mother’s Day Shoot brings thrills

Sheila was the one in the hot seat when the male stripper did his thing.
It was Saturday, May 7th, otherwise known as Mothers Day. You know the one – it comes around once a year, a time for the celebration of the one that brought us into the world. Though you may not remember the moment, surely your mother does, quite vividly.
As tradition would dictate, the Home Plate in Tacoma once again decked the halls with phallic symbols galore and those more secure daughters and mothers alike made their way to the infamous tavern we all love. Each and every year, the ladies always seem to have problems keeping the men out of the dart room for their special event, so, again, they adorned the entryway with inflatable male anatomy parts and this worked like a cross to a vampire.
Home Plate’s, Roger, Mike and Randy worked their magic on the barbeque, creating charbroiled burgers and marinated steaks to go along with the tableful of salads and other goodies. The mood was a happy one and there were 16 teams, or 32 mothers signed up for the dart shoot plus a few motherlovers, if you know what I mean.
Before the dart shoot, Janis Baker, the event coordinator, introduced the extremely large male stripper and he quickly took control of the situation. Three unsuspecting ladies were chosen to take the chairs, front and center. They all became an important part of the show, whether they wanted to or not. As the female-filled room cheered on the antics of the stripper, most of the men happily chose to confine themselves to the lower section of the bar, well out of the way. They were more than happy to get the full story later, as second-hand news.
The food and entertainment was plentiful as was the competition at the dartboards. After it was all said and done, the final results were as follows:
1st Place: Naomi and Maria
2nd Place: Danette and Holly
Great shooting, ladies! Thanks to the Home Plate staff and all the assistants that made this year’s Mothers Day event another huge, and I mean HUGE success. I’m sure that some of the girls managed to get the strippers phone number that day. Can’t wait ‘til next year to see how they can possibly outdo this one!
