You don't have to watch TV reruns to have a good time and still feel at home!

You remember the TV show Cheers, probably the most popular ever. Well, the show is long gone, but the real Cheers in Glendale, AZ, goes on. No, it's not the one the show was about, that was in Boston. But, this is our original Cheers.

And, they do have their regulars that sit at the same spot in the bar each and every afternoon. They are great people who greet you with a hello when you walk in.

Once just another dark neighborhood bar, Cheers owners Alex and Linda wanted to make it something more. They leased out the suite next door and made the bar bigger and lots, lots better. With two pool tables, five dart boards, eight TV's with satellite, pinball, video games and more, there is something for everyone at Cheers. Service is a top priority, and the pretty ladies at are always on their toes (especially on dart night). They make sure everyone is comfortable, even reserving the tables for the dart players. When in the bar, you should look around; I've been going there for about 15 years and still notice new items hanging from the ceiling or on the wall. From license plates to memorabilia, hundreds of items decorate the bar and make for a great atmosphere. Probably the cleanest bar around, the bathrooms are the best around, and I am an expert on bathrooms.

Not a big menu, but a special one makes the food top notch. The usual burgers, nachos and chicken strips are all good. But, the fries and wings are the best around. Tucked in the back southwest corner of 59th Ave. and Bell Rd., you might not even know it is there. But, once you've been there, I guarantee you will be back. Cheers is top on my list of neighborhood bars. Stop by soon and you like me will be saying "I Love This Bar."
