Kurt Gonzalez Wins Don Henson Award
by Mike Bates

Kurt Gonzales became the eighth dart player to win the highly respected top award, at the Don Henson Classic Dart Tournament, held August 27th and 28th at Sixshooters in Peoria.

The award is given to the player who brings the most class, dignity and sportsmanship to the dart community. Like the seven players before him, Kurt was well deserving of the award.

Kurt said that he never knew Don Henson, but had heard many great things about him. He was completely surprised at receiving this prestigious award, and said it was an honor to be chosen by the committee.

Previous winners of the award make up the committee. Each year, they gather to select the next recipient. It is an important award meant, to honor Don Hensons life and the kind of person he was; it keeps a great man and friend alive in our thoughts. He is truly missed.

Here is a list of all of the award winners, in addition to Kurt, over the last eight years:

Dan Wilson
Rick Kerska
Brad Halley
Eric Johnson
