Masters season forty-one

Another Master's season is in the books; season 41 is now history, and some history was made.

It was the first season ever that Chicago Bob Bretz wasn't in. Bob did come back from Montana and sub one week, but his 40-season streak ended. Now there is only one… you guessed it.

In the A Division, Bob's Bashers pounded their way to the top spot winning by six games. Captain Bob Castillo lead his team by winning the Top Gun award, finishing first in 01' and Cricket. He had lots of help from League MVP Brian Mann, Christian Reidel and the omnipresent Pat Womack.

Schoen's Surfers made a galliant run at the end after starting out in last place early in the season. Captain Rick Schoen had a solid season and his team followed suit. Veteran Derek Walton, Chris Watson, and Tom Hicks rounded off the second squad. Tied for third and fourth were Jimmy's Killer Bees (Bates, Beard, Breckinfelder) and Kix's Trix.

Captain, Kix Alcala saw former Masters Top Gun Rick Kerska, return to form of old and Robert Cisneros prove he is the real deal. Finishing off the squad was former top player, Jay Moredock, who saw his game slip a bit. Jimmy Damore nearly made the whole season before returning to Chicago to become a doctor. His Killer B's had looked to be the favorites, but injuries and bad timing cost the team a shot at the title.

In the B Divison, Jerry's Jewels took down the Crown, winning by two games over John's Jakals. Stringer's Wingers got the third spot, out-distancing JC's Pennies. JC Martinez took home the Top Gun award and showed he is ready for the Big Show. Joe Ontiveros had an outstanding season, which garnished him the MVP award. It was great to see many of the Masters B players having such great seasons.

Season 42 promises to bring a new star to the forefront and continue the tradition of this great league, so be sure to sign-up with Mike Bates or Troy Vending. Draft is September 17th at Sixshooters on Peoria . The season begins September 24th.

Don't get left out. Be a part of the top league in the country!
