Hey,
where's Joe?
By “the dart god”, aka, Tim
Joe Kush is the man everyone
can count on and has been so for many years.
My Ole Mans has a great 250% added dart tournament – it has been
the tournament to be at on a Saturday in the West Valley, and you can
rest assured, Joe will be there early to make sure everything is in order.
Then watch out, here come the dart players!
As a “dart player” (and those who know me know why I use the
term loosely), I can call ahead and say I’m almost there. When I
get there, someone will tell me he pulled my chip, or say “Here
is your partner and you’re up on board #3, good luck!”
Yes, I do occasionally show up late – okay, I almost always arrive
late… It wasn’t until a few weeks ago that I was early. Yeah,
I was early! Anyway, I said, “Hey, where’s Joe? He's always
here by now.”
The bartender said, “He's running late today; it is his 16th wedding
anniversary.” It was then that I realized I’ve never told
Joe Kush, Jim Beck, Brad Smith, Jim Wisnor, Pam Allen or the Staff at
My Ole Mans thank you for all you do to make sure we have a great time
on Saturdays at their tournament.
A lot of time and effort goes in to running these tournaments, and sure
enough, Joe was there, running the tournament on Saturday, October 22nd
– his 16th wedding anniversary! A little late, but hey, someone
had to be and this time it wasn’t me. So, a big thank you Joe, and
a big congratulations to you – Joe and Kelly Kush – here’s
to 16 more!
Any guesses as to where Joe will be on his 20th anniversary? I think a
lot of us darters know where to find him if its 2pm on a Saturday. He
seems to always be at My Ole Mans to say, “It’s Cricket then
501; if it sticks, it counts; no corking and it’s flip-n-go.”
So, stop by My Ole Mans on Saturday and tell them all thanks for everything.
I know I will!
