Vending's Banquet
On Saturday, September
3rd, Troy Vending held a banquet for the Central Phoenix Dart Leagues.
The Ox Sportsbar was the location for the event. Over $13,000 was paid
out between the all of the dart leagues.
Julie, Rick’s wife and co-owner of the Ox, prepared an absolutely
delicious buffet, which preceded the award ceremony.
After all of the awards were distributed, it was time for the 200% Payback
dart tournament. Forty-six players signed up for the tournament –
pretty good for Labor Day weekend!
Katie Damore and John Varela, along with Mike Kurley and John Berger,
tied for fifth place. Miguel Lozoya and Don Anderson took the fourth spot.
Pat Cronin and Hopell Ampongan battled through to claim third place.
Joe Ontiveros and Dusky Cady did all they could but finished second as
Don Piper and Gary Zies took the top spot. Great shooting everyone!
Troy Vending would like to thank all of the sponsors and players for supporting
the league. Troy would also like to thank Rick and Julie for hosting another
great banquet and dart tournament.
The Ox Sports Bar has 200% tournaments every Friday and Saturday night
and a monthly 200% Ladies Only Shoot every second Saturday, which falls
on October 8th this month.
Since some people think there is more to life besides darts, we should
let you know that the Ox Sportsbar has something for everyone, not just
dart players! For example, if you are addicted to the latest craze –
Texas Hold ‘Em, you can play in the In-House tournaments at the
Ox Saturdays and Sundays at noon and again at 3pm. Or, you can watch all
of the NFL games on any one of the 16 TVs.
There’s karaoke Monday-Thursday at 9pm and live music with Mike
Marriott on Wednesdays from 5-8pm.
You can count on the folks at the Ox to help out in a time of need as
well, speaking of which, Rick and Julie want to thank everyone who attended
the benefit for Tony Paltrow. Your support is really appreciated!
